Art Deco Simulator UI Design
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
I’m building a first-person simulator set in a bustling 1920-1935 U.S. city and I want every on-screen element to echo the period’s unmistakable Art Deco flair. Using Unreal Engine 5 and its UMG system, your task is to shape a cohesive user experience that feels native to the era yet stays lightweight and readable for modern players.
The core of the job revolves around three areas:
• A diegetic HUD that cleanly presents health, status effects, a mini-map/compass, and a 10-slot toolbar without crowding the screen.
• Workstation and other in-world interaction screens that open when the player uses radios, telephones, drafting tables, or newspaper stands—these should behave like period control panels while borrowing subtle modern UX conveniences.
• Consistent iconography for objects and NPC callouts that can sit in-world or hover just above items without breaking immersion.
Beyond those pillars, I’ll also need a functional main menu, pause/options screens, and concise dialog windows that reuse the same visual language, plus any supporting assets (fonts, borders, decorative flourishes) required to keep everything visually locked to the Art Deco style.
Deliverables I expect:
1. Source design files (Figma, PSD, or Illustrator) with well-named layers for future tweaks.
If a minimal approach can achieve the period feel without clutter, I’m open to it—function always wins over ornament. Let me know your timeline, relevant portfolio pieces.
If you have Unreal 5 experience an extension on implementing the UI direct in the project can be discussed.
DO NOT offer without reading the project brief, or offer to build the entire game, as that's not on offer.
