Rustic Handwritten Font Creation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m producing a new handwritten typeface with a distinctly rustic personality—think warm, slightly imperfect strokes that feel at home on craft-style labels, farmhouse signage, or nature-inspired branding. The font must be a true script: letters should connect naturally, with subtle variations that convey an authentic pen-on-paper flow rather than a mechanical pattern.
Scope
• Design the full character set (A–Z, a–z, numbers, common punctuation, basic symbols).
• Include discretionary ligatures and stylistic alternates where they add charm without sacrificing legibility.
• Deliver in both OTF and TTF formats, plus editable vector source files (AI or Glyphs).
• Final files should install seamlessly on Mac and Windows and render crisply at both display and text sizes.
Acceptance criteria
1. Consistent baseline and x-height that keeps reading effortless.
2. No obvious copy-paste repeats—the texture must feel naturally varied across glyphs.
3. Kerning pairs thoroughly tested to avoid gaps or overlaps in typical English sentences.
4. All glyphs pass a quick spot-check in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma.
Timeline is flexible within reason, but early sketches within the first week will help us lock the direction. If you’re comfortable refining handmade lettering into a polished, functional typeface, I’d love to see a brief sample or previous font work and move forward.
