Polish Ebook in Polish ;) Word or InDesign, cover, images and final PDF

Job ID: 40489373

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I’m looking for a detail-oriented layout designer to turn a finished Polish manuscript into a polished, publication-ready PDF ebook.

The source file is a pre-formatted Word document of around 60 pages. The text has already been proofread, but the layout still needs professional attention: typography, spacing, image placement, visual consistency, page flow and final PDF export.

You’ll work from my existing Word template, brand/style references and example images. The ebook should be prepared in A4 format and delivered as a final PDF plus the editable source file.

## Scope of work

You will be responsible for:

* laying out the full ebook based on the supplied Word document
* reviewing and cleaning up Word styles where needed
* removing unnecessary manual spacing, extra paragraph breaks and inconsistent formatting
* fixing typography issues, including widows, orphans and awkward page breaks
* preparing a clean table of contents and page numbering
* designing the ebook cover
* creating/AI-generating around 20 consistent images for the ebook
* improving visual treatment of highlighted text blocks
* aligning images and text so the ebook feels coherent and professionally designed
* exporting a polished PDF with images at minimum 300 dpi

The text is in Polish. Polish fluency is helpful, but not necessarily required if you are comfortable using ChatGPT or another LLM to understand the content and generate/contextualize images properly.

## Image work

The ebook will include around 20 images. These should be created by you, based on examples I will provide, while keeping a consistent visual style throughout the publication.

I can provide access to a GPT model for generating the images in ChatGPT. Alternatively, you may create them using another method if the final style is coherent and publication-ready.

## Tools and files

Source material:

* Word manuscript, around 60 pages
* existing Word template / DOTX files
* brand guide or style references
* example images
* colors and font guidance

You may work in either Word or Adobe InDesign.

If you choose InDesign, please note that there is no existing INDD file. You would need to recreate the layout and styles from the Word template and supplied brand materials.

Final deliverables:

* publication-ready PDF
* editable source file, either Word or InDesign package
* A4 format

I do not need ePub or Mobi versions.

## Font requirement

The ebook uses Univia. You need to have your own access to this font via Adobe Fonts / Adobe Typekit. I cannot provide the font files.

## Process

Before laying out the full ebook, please prepare the first 10 pages and send them for approval.

The project includes:

* 2 rounds of feedback on the initial 10-page sample
* 2 rounds of revisions on the full ebook after the complete layout is prepared

The project can start immediately. There is no hard deadline, so please include your proposed timeline in your application.

## Acceptance checklist

The project will be considered complete when:

* all pages follow the supplied template and brand direction
* typography is clean and professionally handled
* there are no widows, orphans, awkward spacing issues or unnecessary manual breaks
* the table of contents and page numbers work correctly
* internal links function correctly
* images are crisp, consistent and relevant to the Polish content
* all images are exported in minimum 300 dpi quality
* highlighted text blocks are visually consistent and well-designed
* the final PDF is polished and publication-ready
* the editable source file is delivered

## Please include in your application

* portfolio examples of similar ebook, report, workbook or PDF layout projects
* information about whether you prefer working in Word or InDesign
* your proposed workflow
* your proposed timeline
* your quote for the full project
* confirmation that you have access to the Univia font through Adobe Fonts / Typekit

If you are strong in editorial layout, typography and clean PDF production, and you can work carefully with an existing style direction, I’d like to hear from you.
