Typography Effect Project
Create a Children's Book Cover
Apply typography, image, and background skills to create a book cover.
Instructions:
Create a children's book cover using a blank document. DO NOT USE A TEMPLATE! You may choose the subject and title. (SUBJECT = Children's learning book/ TITLE = Preschool Is Cool - Learning My ABCs & 123s) Create a design > Custom size > Enter dimension in inches (7' in x 10 in )!
Determine an appropriate tone and colors for your design.
Navigate to youtube.com.
Search for "Canva typography," "Canva typography poster," "Canva album cover art," or something similar.
Review the available tutorials and select one that will result in a typography effect that will both fit the tone of this design and create a "wow" factor. (There are lots of them!)
Use the typography effect that will both fit the design to create a text effect for the book. (PLEASE NOTE: Some design features are not available in the FREE version of Canva. Choose a typography effect that you can do with the FREE version.)
Add any necessary elements to complete the cover. (I would like a little african american boy pictured somewhere on the cover) Make sure you follow all design principles. Include an author or artist's name. (Brea Whitehead)
