Arabic Font Symbols Integration & Shaping Fix
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m looking for an experienced Arabic font specialist / typographer to fix an issue with existing symbols in a font
Clarification:
Symbols already exist in the font (will be provided)
Issue: when typing, symbols do not blend naturally with Arabic letters
Goal: symbols should look and behave like native Arabic letters
Scope of work:
Adjust symbol alignment, baseline, spacing, and proportions
Ensure symbols flow naturally within Arabic text
Fix typographic behavior so symbols feel like letters, not standalone icons
Test symbols inside Arabic text contexts
Deliverables:
Final font file with corrected symbols
Acceptance Criteria:
The deliverable will be considered complete and accepted only if all of the following are met:
1- Visual Consistency
Symbols visually match the Arabic letters in baseline alignment, stroke weight, size and proportions
Symbols do not appear raised, lowered, smaller, or larger than surrounding Arabic text
2- Typing & Text Flow
Symbols flow naturally when typed within Arabic text
No visible breaks, jumps, or spacing issues when symbols appear inside words or sentences
Symbols feel like native Arabic letters, not standalone icons
3- Spacing & Metrics
Correct advance width and side bearings
No excessive gaps before or after symbols
Line height remains unaffected when symbols are used
4- Arabic Compatibility
Symbols behave correctly in RTL text
Symbols do not break Arabic shaping or joining behavior of adjacent letters
5- Application Validation
Symbols render correctly in common environments (e.g. text editors and browsers)
No clipping, overlap, or misalignment issues
Font Integrity:
Font installs and loads without errors
No corruption or regression in existing Arabic letters
