Background and Position Description
The project team is building an iOS and web app backed by an evolving humanities database and seeks a new Front End Development Lead to enable the team to meet schedule objectives. The position is initially full time (100% LOE) for the first several months, then scaling back to 50% LOE. Employment is on a work for hire basis (payable hourly) with an anticipated period of performance (PoP) of six months. The project has a launch date of July 2025, if the launch is successful the position PoP would extend indefinitely. This would be remote work as our engineering team is spread out internationally. The anticipated start date is ASAP. All intellectual property rights for this work reside with Cultural Resources LLC.

• Job responsibilities are the development and maintenance of:
• Next.JS/React web app
• iPad app (Swift)
• Custom content development management tools
• Custom data management tools (via API, front end only)
• Code documentation

Experience Requirements/ non-negotiables:
• Typescript
• Next.js
• React
• Node.js
• Prisma
• Swift, iOS development

Advantageous experience:
• Geospatial rendering libraries, Cesium, OpenGlobus
• React accessibility features (experience, or ready to learn) as Section 508 compliance may be required
• Legacy JavaScript, including JQuery
• Deployment through Git
• Vercel Next.js platform
• Basic postgreSQL, including familiarity with the Neon platform
• UX/accessibility testing
• CI/CD
• Python

• Reporting and Accountability
• Report to Engineering Manager
• Work with backend team, and other specialists
• Availability to join bi-monthy online meetings where majority of team members are available. This is approximately Tuesdays 6:00am UTC. This is non-negotiable.
