Goal:
Build a political/opinion column website where users can interact, donate, and authors can publish columns.
1. USER SYSTEM
- User Registration & Login:
- Via Google OAuth or email + password
- Google reCAPTCHA v2 on all forms
- Forgot password recovery
- Users choose their own display name during registration
- After login, users can:
- Like/dislike columns (1 per user)
- Comment on columns using their chosen display name
- See their own comments
- Donate via PayPal (panel)
2. DONATION SYSTEM
- Users can donate via PayPal (one-time donations)
- System stores:
- Donation amount
- User ID
- Timestamp
- Based on donation amount, the user gets a donation badge/icon:
€10+ → ■ Supporter
€20+ → ■ Believer
€50+ → ■ Champion
€100+ → ■ Legend
- Only the highest tier icon is shown.
3. ADMIN SYSTEM
- Separate admin login page (/admin)
- Admin dashboard features:
- Create/Edit/Delete columns
- WYSIWYG editor (e.g. TinyMCE)
- Upload header image
- Assign category
- Publish/unpublish column
- Admin can view all users & donation history
4. FRONTEND LAYOUT & INTERACTION
- Modern, responsive Bootstrap-based layout
- Homepage shows:
- Latest columns
- Title, excerpt, author, date
- Like count, comment count
- Column page includes:
- Full article
- Like/Dislike (once per user)
- Comment section with display names & donor icons
