Voice AI Call Engineer – Build Our AI Phone System (Twilio/Vapi)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are building an AI-powered phone and texting system for businesses.
We need a Voice AI specialist who has already built real AI phone agents.

If you haven’t created AI that talks on the phone,
do not apply.

You must be able to build an AI that can:
• Answer inbound phone calls
• Make outbound calls
• Understand the caller in real time
• Think/reason with an LLM
• Talk back instantly (fast TTS)
• Transfer the call to a human when asked
• Send text messages after the call (follow-ups)
• Handle simple menus (“Press 1 to…” or “Say yes…”)

Required Skills:
• Twilio Voice OR Vapi experience
• Real-time speech-to-text → LLM → text-to-speech pipeline
• Webhooks + audio streaming
• Natural-sounding voice responses
• Call routing and warm-transfer logic
• Must show past voice AI work (recordings or demos)

Bonus (not required):
• WhatsApp automations
• SMS AI flows
• Experience connecting to backend APIs
