Laravel Developer – AI Voice & SMS Assistant (Twilio/Bandwidth + Open-Source LLMs)



Project Overview

We’re building an AI-powered Voice & SMS Assistant to automate outreach to field technicians nationwide. The system will:



Call and text contacts from a spreadsheet (CSV or Google Sheets)

Use AI to talk naturally during calls (dynamic responses, not just static scripts)

Convert speech-to-text in real time for logging and tracking

Record transcripts + outcomes of every call/SMS

Provide an admin dashboard to manage contacts and view results

The core application will be developed in Laravel, integrated with Twilio or Bandwidth, and powered by open-source LLMs (Whisper + OpenRouter or similar).



Scope of Work



You will be responsible for:

1. Core Application (Laravel)

Build a robust Laravel backend for all features

Implement APIs for telephony, AI, and data integration

Ensure scalability and clean, maintainable code

2. Voice & SMS Integration

Connect with Twilio or Bandwidth for outbound/inbound calls & SMS

Configure a dedicated number for automated communication

Handle retries, call timeouts, and error management

3. AI/LLM Integration

Implement Whisper STT for real-time speech-to-text

Integrate OpenRouter (or similar LLMs) for AI-driven call dialogue

Ensure smooth handoff between scripted and AI-generated responses

4. Contact List Automation

Support CSV upload + Google Sheets sync

Enable batch calling and SMS messaging from the list

Build status tracking for each contact

5. Dashboard & Logs

Create a lightweight UI (Vue/React or Blade) to:

Upload/manage contact lists

View call/SMS history with transcripts

Monitor outcomes and basic analytics

6. Documentation & Deployment

Provide clear setup + deployment docs

Recommend infrastructure for scaling (cloud hosting, load handling)

Must-Have Skills

Laravel expert (REST APIs, queues, event handling, clean architecture)

Proven experience with Twilio or Bandwidth APIs (voice + SMS)

Background in conversational AI, LLMs, or speech-to-text systems

Comfortable integrating with Google Sheets API and CSV workflows

Ability to deliver independently, on time, with production-ready code

Nice-to-Have

Experience deploying Laravel apps to AWS, DigitalOcean, or similar

Frontend experience (Vue/React) for the dashboard

Prior work on AI bots, call centers, or telephony automation

Deliverables

Working Laravel app with outbound AI voice + SMS assistant

Admin dashboard for managing contacts & reviewing transcripts

Logs of all interactions with searchable transcripts/outcomes

Documentation for deployment, maintenance, and scaling

Automated emails sent to recipients who want to complete the offered work order via A.I. call
