Resolve Laptop Peripheral Lag Problems -- 2
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I need someone to get to the bottom of an annoying issue that shows up whenever I connect an external keyboard and mouse to my Windows-based laptop. The mouse fires off ghost clicks on its own, the pointer stutters, and League of Legends—along with a few other everyday apps—slows to a crawl even though my ping and frame rate look normal.
Here’s what I already know:
• I swapped in another set of peripherals and the exact same problem sticks around, so it’s not the hardware itself.
• The lag is visible outside of League, so the game isn’t the lone culprit.
• Windows, chipset, BIOS, graphics, and peripheral drivers are fully up to date.
What I’m after is a clean, repeatable fix (or set of fixes) that stops the phantom clicks, restores normal mouse responsiveness, and eliminates the in-game stutter. Whether that means digging into USB power settings, HID driver conflicts, firmware, background services, or deeper OS troubleshooting, I’m open to your tested approach.
Deliverables
1. A brief diagnostic plan you’ll follow (shared up front so I know what to expect).
2. Remote or step-by-step guidance to apply the remedy.
3. A short write-up of exactly what was changed so I can reproduce the solution if I ever reset the system.
If you’ve tackled similar USB input or polling-rate conflicts, touchpad/USB coexistence bugs, or League performance drops tied to peripherals, let me know. I’m ready to jump on a remote session as soon as we agree on the steps.
