Linux Mint Touchscreen Fix Needed

Job ID: 40117250

Budget: $30 – $250 AUD

My Linux Mint laptop suddenly developed a frustrating problem: the touchscreen will recognise the first two taps and then goes completely unresponsive until I reboot. There were no updates, driver installs or configuration changes right before this started, so I’m stumped.
I have rust desk installed so you can remote dest to it.

I need someone who knows their way around Linux Mint’s input stack—kernel modules, libinput, xinput/Wayland settings, and any Lenovo-/Dell-style firmware quirks—to diagnose why the touch interface drops out and restore full, continuous touch functionality.

Deliverables
• A working touchscreen that stays responsive under normal use
• A brief summary of what you changed (packages, configs, commands) so I can replicate the fix if I reinstall

You can work over SSH or guide me step-by-step via chat or video, whichever is faster for you. Let me know roughly how long you expect the investigation and fix to take.
