Fix Windows Private Network Connection

Job ID: 40399886

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

Ever since an authorized repair shop reset the BIOS on my wife’s HP laptop, her Windows machine refuses to see the private network share on my computer that sits on the same router. Outlook is sorted, but this local network link is still dead and she needs it for daily file access.

Here is what I know so far:
• The laptop runs Windows.
• Symptom: it simply cannot connect to the network, even though every other device on the router talks to each other fine.
• I have already restarted both the router and the laptop and double-checked the usual network-adapter settings, so basic fixes are out of the way.
• I can remote into the laptop without issues, so you’ll have full access for deeper diagnostics.

I’m looking for someone who can jump on a quick remote session, work through advanced Windows networking tools (Device Manager, PowerShell, services, firewall rules, SMB settings, etc.) and get the machines talking again. The job is done when the laptop can reliably browse and transfer files to my computer through the router.
