Translate Spanish Children’s Stories

Job ID: 40104694

Budget: €18 – €36 EUR

I have a collection of short children’s stories originally written in Spanish that I’m preparing for publication as an English-language picture book. I need each story rendered into natural, engaging English while preserving the warmth, rhythm, and playful tone that keeps young readers hooked. Accuracy is vital, but so is a sense of storytelling: dialogue must sound authentic, humour should land, and any rhyme or wordplay should feel effortless in English.

The manuscript is roughly 6,500 words total across eight individual tales. I’ll supply clean, proof-read Spanish text in Word format; you’ll return the translated stories in the same document structure, ready for my editor and illustrator. Light localisation is welcome when it helps clarity, but please keep the original flavour of the characters, settings, and cultural touches.

Ideal deliverable:
• Final English text for each story, aligned paragraph-for-paragraph with the Spanish.
• A brief translator’s note when you make creative choices (optional but helpful).
• Turnaround within two weeks of project start, with one revision round included.

Experience translating literature for children, a sensitive ear for style, and solid command of both Spanish and English are what will make this project shine. If that sounds like you, I’m excited to read your sample work and timeline.
