Translate English Fiction Works
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I hold the rights to a growing catalogue of English-language novels, short stories, and flash fiction that I’m ready to introduce to new readers worldwide. I’m looking for a literary translator who can capture each author’s voice, rhythm, and nuance while making the text feel completely natural in the target language.
Here’s what I need from you:
• A detailed project proposal outlining your approach to literary translation, time-frame per 10 000 words, and any revision cycle you typically follow.
• At least one sample or published excerpt that shows how you handle dialogue, figurative language, and tone shifts.
• Your preferred CAT tools (Trados, memoQ, Wordfast, or another) if you use them for terminology consistency. Manual, non-tool workflows are fine too—just let me know.
Scope of work
– Initial draft of the translation for my review.
– Collaborative revision round incorporating my editorial notes.
– Final, publication-ready manuscript delivered in Word or Google Docs with tracked changes clean.
Acceptance criteria
1. Faithful rendering of meaning, imagery, and narrative voice.
2. Smooth, idiomatic target-language prose that reads like an original work.
3. Consistent terminology and character names across chapters.
If this sounds like the kind of project that excites you, send over your proposal and a brief showcase of past fiction translations so we can discuss next steps.
