Spanish Translator (Contract – On-Call Basis)

We are seeking a professional Spanish Translator for a contract, on-call role to support our HR team. The translator must be available and responsive during business hours (8 AM – 4 PM PT, Monday through Friday) but will only be compensated for time spent actively translating and preparing documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Remain on-call and available to respond to requests throughout the workday

- Translate live conversations between Spanish and English (phone or video)

- Prepare concise and objective English-language witness statements summarizing each conversation

- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism

- Communicate efficiently with the HR team and deliver prompt documentation

Requirements:

- Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written)

- Experience with live, real-time interpretation

- Strong written communication and summarization skills

- Availability and responsiveness during the full on-call window

- Discretion and experience handling sensitive conversations

Preferred Qualifications:

- Background in HR, legal, or employee relations

- Experience working with confidential information

- Interpretation certification (a plus)
