Job Responsibilities Overview:
Script Translation
Accurately and fluently translate Chinese short drama scripts into target languages (such as English, Spanish, Thai, etc.), ensuring natural language flow and alignment with local expression habits.
Localization Adaptation
Adapt script content according to the cultural background, language habits, and audience preferences of the target market, including but not limited to:
Localization of cultural references, puns, and idioms
Adaptation of character names, locations, timing, and other elements
Fine-tuning of plots or dialogues to enhance audience immersion
Subtitling & Timing Proofreading
Create or proofread subtitle files in sync with video visuals, ensuring subtitles match lip movements and scene rhythm to optimize viewing experience.
Content Review & Quality Control
Review translated scripts for accuracy, consistency, and professionalism, avoiding ambiguities, cultural misunderstandings, or sensitive content. Ensure final output complies with platform standards and local regulations.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with scriptwriters, directors, post-production editors, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of localized scripts with video production, maintaining narrative coherence and emotional impact.
Terminology Database Management
Establish and maintain terminology databases, character name reference tables, style guides, etc., to improve translation efficiency and quality consistency for future projects.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Proficient in bilingual or multilingual capabilities, especially strong Chinese-to-English translation skills
Deep understanding of short dramas and short-form video content, familiar with platform dynamics
Culturally sensitive, able to identify and avoid cultural conflicts
Experience in subtitling preferred
