Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD
Photomath is the world's most used math app, with more than 280M App Downloads, 4.7 App Store Rating, available in more than 30 languages, and solving over a billion math problems per month! With our mobile app, users can solve math problems instantly using their phone camera to get detailed step-by-step instructions to help maximize learning.
To support even more content in different languages, we are looking for math teachers, math graduates, or math enthusiasts, to translate our mathematical content from English to German. We are looking for people who understand the math-solving process and are familiar with math terminology and content studied from the lowest grades all the way to college. Our targeted market is Germany, so the translations would need to be adapted to German school system.
We are looking for three different translators to translate three different types of content. In the attached files you can find the example of each type of content along with the interface of our system that you would be using for translating. Besides translating, we are expecting feedback about anything not applicable or explained differently in German.
These are the three projects we are offering:
1) Animation texts
The project includes translating 3133 "Animation texts". This would be separated into 7 milestones over 7 weeks. That means, each week, you would be translating around 500 Animation texts. The payment is calculated based on the number of texts (1.5$ per text), so the project is worth 4 700$.
2) Hints
The project includes translating 626 "Hints" with a total of 26 579 words. This would be separated into 4 milestones over 4 weeks. That means, each week, you would be translating around 200 Hints with approximately 8500 words. The payment is calculated based on the number of words in English (0.1$ per word), so the project is worth 2 660$. This project also has a possible follow-up project, but more on that upon finishing this one.
3) Whys
The project includes translating 849 "Whys" with a total of 76 796 words. This would be separated into 9 milestones over 9 weeks. That means, each week, you would be translating around 100 Whys with approximately 9000 words. The payment is calculated based on the number of words in English (0.1$ per word), so the project is worth 7 680$.
All three projects would start on the first of December, 2022.
Requirements:
- You are familiar with math content studied from lower grades all the way to college
- German is your native language
- Additional plus is if you are a math teacher, if you are a math graduate and/or if you have experience in math tutoring
At the end of the project, if both parties are satisfied, there is an opportunity to continue our collaboration.
If you are interested in one of these projects, please send us information about your past experiences, which project you would like to take on and why you would be a perfect candidate for this job. We look forward to receiving your response! We will be collecting the applications until Monday, 28th of November, end of the day. If you satisfy our requirements, you can expect us to contact you after Monday.
Thank you very much for your time and have a great day.
Best regards,
Photomath team
