Localize Spanish Kids’ Stories

Job ID: 40040254

Budget: $8 – $15 AUD

I have a collection of short children’s stories written in Spanish that need to “live” naturally in English without losing their original heart. Because these texts are aimed at readers aged 9-12, I’m looking for a thoughtful localization rather than a sentence-by-sentence lift. Humor, idioms, and cultural references should be re-imagined so they resonate with upper-elementary and early-middle-school kids who will be reading them in class for educational purposes.

You’ll receive each story as a Word document or PDF. Your job is to return a clean, well-formatted English version that:

• keeps the storyline intact while smoothing out cultural references for English-speaking readers
• preserves any educational elements—vocabulary builders, moral lessons, or discussion prompts—so teachers can still rely on them in the classroom
• reflects age-appropriate tone and vocabulary (think middle-grade fiction, not early readers or YA)

I’m happy to review a short sample passage first so we can confirm voice and approach. Once we agree, you can proceed with the full set of stories.
