Interpretation and Translation assignments for educational, medical, and public and private services settings.
Interpreters must have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
1. Highly proficient in both English and the other language.
2. Impartiality.
3. Able to accurately and idiomatically turn the message from the source language into the target language without any additions, omissions or other misleading factors that alter the intended meaning of the message from the speaker.
4. Adept at simultaneous interpretation, which is the most frequent form of interpretation used in the courtroom, and in consecutive interpretation and sight translation.
5. Able to communicate orally including appropriate delivery and poise.
6. Demonstrates high professional standards for professional conduct in all kind of settings.
