Freelance subtitles translators
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD
We are looking for people who are skilled in subtitling and have a desire to work on fast paced projects for a high profile client.
This should provide a fairly consistent workflow for participating freelancers through the rest of the calendar year and we are scheduled to begin this project the first week of January After December, the work will come seasonally to align with major awards and film festivals.
What you’d be doing:
Subtitling & Translation of AV Trailers (full theatrical, teaser, and cutdown) as follows:
translate/localize actor dialogue in a trailer (using Nikse Subtitle Edit) conforming to visual and technical specifications and deliver as an SRT without the provision of an English script or time coding.
translate/localize on screen text in the provided Google Sheet.
translate/localize and suggest forced narratives (a text overlay that communicates plot pertinent, on-screen information) in the provided Google Sheet
Translation of text for Key Artwork (print) and Digital banners in the provided Google sheet.
Quality Assurance/Editing act as both mid-process and final in-country QA on subtitling plus translation work carried out by other team members in your locale.
We are offering a flat rate per asset required. Flat rates are determined on the following basis:
Estimated wordcounts and video runtime based on average volumes anticipated.
Actual wordcount and runtime may fluctuate up or down from title to title.
Flat rates are intended to be fair across a body of work completed on a repeated basis allowing:
$0.15 per word for translation
$10 per minute for subtitling
$0.10 per word and/or $10 per minute for QA (review of GFX, forced narratives, subtitles)
We are now in the process of creating teams of qualified resources to help localize into the following languages - Arabic, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese - both Brazilian and European, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Spanish - both European and LATAM, and Swedish.
In order to ensure compliance and quality with our clients' guidelines for subtitling, we are asking that all potential teammates provide us with a subtitling test.
