Filipino translation editor for language app
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
English Learning Apps Ltd is seeking a native-speaker Filipino Translation Editor (EN > FIL) for a long-term position with our upcoming apps, Clearly English and Clearly English Pro. These feature extensive vocabulary activities, grammar tutorials, an audio phrase book and a pronunciation studio, all with comprehensive help and translations. Together with uniquely interactive video content, this will be the next must-have app for learners of English. You can learn more about the app and watch a demo video at https://clearlyenglishapp.com
Many design features are pedagogically innovative and promote extended usage, and even premium content is available in the free version through viewing rewarded ads, providing excellent potential for ongoing monetisation. After completing the initial editing set comprising the content used for the launch version, translators remain available for editing content for major updates approximately every three months. This ongoing responsibility is reflected in the compensation structure, with 5% of global sales and advertising revenue divided among Translation Editors for the lifetime of the app.
This project offers a nominal £50 fee for editing the initial content, but upon awarding the project, a contract will be signed with the translation editor to set up the long-term agreement. Given that this initial editing set requires significant input from editors for just this nominal fee, we are expecting to work with those who, like us, appreciate the significant potential of the project for long-term revenue generation, and who are willing to invest some time and effort in the short term to help realise this potential. If it's as successful as we predict, future rewards for translators should be far in excess of a standard flat fee, but this project is not suitable for translators who require immediate payment on a per-word basis. At ELA Ltd, we're also excited to be providing a quality resource for the many highly-motivated learners of English worldwide who cannot afford to pay for apps.
To bid for this project, please briefly describe your relevant background and skills, and request an application pack. You'll then need to complete an 'application task' comprising two short sample sections for editing. All content has been translated with Google, but requires editing for accuracy and style, as well as some development in accordance with provided guidelines. The task is designed to allow a translator to decide if they want to join the project team as well as to demonstrate their proficiency. The application pack includes full information about the app content and the business model, as well as a sample contract. Support is provided throughout the application process for the right candidates.
