English to German Translator Required for Fast-Paced Tech Company

Looking for a long-term contracted translator to work within our marketing team, translating our website content, blog posts and sales documents, as well as providing captions and script translations. This is a long term (12+ month) contract looking for 6-8 hours per week or providing a credit system for translations to allow for a change in demand month-on-month.

Specialist knowledge in the learning technology industry is preferable due to glossary of terms.

Key skills:

Read through original material and rewrite it in German, ensuring that the meaning and spirit of the source text is retained.

Management of the website translation for blog content & web pages using Weglot translation software.

Ability to utilise Slack for communication with the team on a regular basis.

Knowledge or experience of using Asana for project task management.

Experience of or knowledge of using Weglot (website translation software) or ability to learn a new software for delivery of translations.

Use specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used.

Research legal, technical and scientific phraseology to find the correct translation
liaise with clients to discuss any unclear points

Proofread and edit final translated versions
