ICELANDIC TRANSCRIPTION PROJECT LOFT2.0
Budget: $149 – $150 USD
I am looking for a transcriptionist for my Icelandic transcription project. The audio files that need to be transcribed are more than 20 000 minutes long and contain everyday language. There are no specific terminologies or jargon used in the audio files. I do not require a time-stamped transcription.
Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Icelandic language
- Excellent listening and typing skills
- Attention to detail
- Previous experience in transcription projects
The job is to identify and mark when each speaker is speaking, and transcribe the corresponding audio. In other words, you write down what people say in the audio.
To become a good transcriber you need to be able to write fast and listen carefully. You use a Chrome webpage where you put annotations tags (background noise, speaker name, etc.)
Requirements:
Native Icelandic (unless you can prove beyond reasonable doubt that you can transcribe the chosen language)
PC or MacBook to do the job on Google Chrome
You have good knowledge of the language to be transcribed.
You write fast and you are careful, or have the will to train these qualities.
You have average data (internet connectivity)
You take full responsibility for your work and your obligations.
You must be available for a minimum of three hours per day. This is a long-term project that may last very long, so there is good opportunities.
Note: an initial assessment test will be done to check if you are suitable for the task.
This is suitable for those who:
Want to control yourself where you work from; from home, from vacation, from cabin - you choose where you do the work, as long as it doesn't compromise on confidentiality.
It is an advantage if you are flexible and can work based on needs and workload.
Want an interesting extra or part-time job over a longer period.
You will decide for yourself when you work.
Training and guidelines will be provided, as well as constant feedback from reviewers. We also have a WhatsApp group where several people actively participate with questions and answers.
Payment is done monthly ( in arrears)
Rate: $2.50 per audio minute of segmentation & transcription
