Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
Nature of Work: Provide in-depth case management services for the assigned Forensic Pathologist(s) for the Medico-Legal death investigation cases assigned to the Pathologist(s).
Case management includes: Creation, maintenance, and updating of associated physical and electronic case file;
Requesting, receiving, cataloging, and filing associated death scene reports, crime scene photographs, other scene related evidence requirements, medical records, incarceration records and any other records deemed necessary by the Forensic Pathologist;
Receiving, reviewing, answering, filing and tracking requests from next of kin, local, State, and Federal law enforcement, State and Federal law enforcement, State and Federal prosecutors, law firms, and court systems;
Initializing, tracking, and finalizing vital records requirements;
Initializing, medical transcribing, correcting, formatting, and production of autopsy reports for the Physician's signature;
Manage, track, and coordinate the scheduling and calendars for the assigned Forensic Pathologist(s) and create correspondence for their signature(s) or the signature of the Chief Administrator, to include: invoices for record or sample production; responses to various
inquiries; responses to next of kin requests; litigation packets for Prosecutors, law enforcement, and other attorneys; and Administrative Subpoenas issued on behalf of the Office of the Chief medical Examiner (OCME);
Maintain exceptional awareness of all policies, procedures, protocols and statutes that govern the operations conducted at the OCME, to include all Physician preferences related to their professional practice of medicine as a Medical Examiner as they relate to the management of assigned cases and successful accomplishment of the OCME mission to determine the cause and manner of death;
