Train Locals to Safeguard Bokimaruru
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I’m leading a grassroots effort to shield the Bokimaruru karst landscape from the looming nickel-mining expansion and to calm the agrarian tension now surfacing in Musi Banyuasin. The heart of the strategy is community engagement, and I need a skilled trainer who can translate complex environmental and land-rights issues into clear, actionable knowledge for the people who live on—and depend on—these lands.
Your assignment is to design and deliver an interactive workshop series for local residents. Sessions must be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia, rely on engaging visuals and stories, and leave participants confident about three things: how mining threatens their water, farms, and forests; which legal and administrative channels are open to them; and how to document and report violations safely.
Deliverables I must see:
• A concise curriculum (about three to four modules) tailored to rural audiences
• Slide deck, hand-outs, and simple infographics residents can keep and reuse
• Two days of on-site facilitation in Bokimaruru, built around discussion circles, role-plays, and a practical action-planning segment
• A follow-up summary capturing attendance, key questions, photos (with consent), and agreed next steps
Fluency in Indonesian is essential; familiarity with local dialects and participatory tools such as community mapping or PRA will strengthen your proposal. If you can add short smartphone video tutorials or WhatsApp support after the event, let me know—flexibility is welcome. I’ll cover reasonable travel and printing costs; please outline them separately in your bid.
