remote control vertical door

I am a freelance photographer who has build a home studio. I use the studio as a living room and a studio. I have remote control electric back ground holders and would like to hide the back drops within an enclosed door. I would like to cover the backdrops within something that looks like a cupboard but the door will open slowly to reveal the back drops from the ceiling to the back wall with maybe an air pressured device or something. It would be around 50cm down and 10 feet across. I have built a pretend one however it is so badly done that it almost crashes down every time I open it. I have enclosed a picture of how I would like it to look and a picture of how it currently looks. Please help?
