Combined Cycle Thermodynamic Analysis in EES

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I have a complete combined-cycle power plant concept that I now need modeled in Engineering Equation Solver (EES). The goal is to obtain a clear thermodynamic picture of every major component—gas turbine, heat-recovery steam generator, and steam turbine—and the interaction between them as one integrated system.

You will start from the basic operating parameters I provide (pressures, temperatures, mass-flow rates and fuel data) and build a well-structured EES file that runs without errors. The model should calculate state properties at all key points, overall thermal efficiency, specific work outputs for both turbines, the heat balance, and any pertinent performance indices. Wherever simplifications or assumptions are required, note them clearly inside the file.

Deliverables
• The fully annotated .EES project file
• A concise results sheet (Excel or PDF) summarising states, efficiencies and the overall energy balance
• A brief explanation of the methodology, including equations of state or correlations applied

Acceptance criteria: the EES file must converge consistently with my input data, calculated efficiencies must be physically reasonable, and every variable must be traceable to a governing equation within the code comments.

If you are fluent with EES’s built-in thermodynamic property functions and have previous experience modelling combined cycles, this task should be straightforward. I’m ready to share the initial data set as soon as we begin.
