Ultra-Thin Heated Glove Prototype
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
I’m developing an ultra-thin heated glove that feels no bulkier than a regular winter liner yet warms the wearer’s hands rapidly and evenly. To get there I need help moving from concept sketches to a working prototype I can put through real-world testing.
Here’s what I already have and what I still need:
• Concept drawings that illustrate overall look, target thickness (≤3 mm excluding battery) and desired heating zones along fingers and back of hand.
• Preliminary research on micro-film resistive heaters, flexible lithium-ion pouch cells, and low-profile USB-C charging circuits.
You would handle the technical integration—selecting the thinnest safe heating element, embedding it into a comfortable textile stack, designing a compact power/controls module, and assembling a fully functional right-hand medium prototype. A detailed tech pack and bill of materials must accompany the sample so I can reproduce it with a manufacturer.
Key considerations
– Even heat distribution with surface temps adjustable between 30-55 °C.
– Total glove weight under 120 g.
– All electronics concealed and bend-tolerant, IPX4 splash resistance.
– Removable or easily serviceable power pack (rechargeable, 2+ hrs on medium heat).
– Compliance with IEC 62368-1 or equivalent safety guidance.
