Winter Sock Design Challenge

Job ID: 39757188

Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR

We are creating socks for winter. We need 3 eye catching designs for our socks. We're not yet sure what type of symbolism we want on the sock design, however it should be made in winter colors.

Some color themes that could be used are:
Earthy neutrals like mocha mousse, chocolate brown, tawny brown, cocoa, hot chocolate.
Bright accents like chili red, mustard, tomato red, lime green, bold violet.
Cool dramatic tones like icy blue, cobalt, Future Dusk deep purple, Electric Aubergine.
Or something playful like Fresh Purple, Pickle Green, Transformative Teal, Retro Blue, Celestial Yellow, Cherry Lacquer.

For themes, you can consider popular Winter and Christmas themes. We're open to collaborating to figure out what will look best.

You are more than welcome to use AI or your own process to get design ideas. However the final design must be submitted using our template, which we have attached. (Sock-Mockup.psd)

The template contains a "Flat view" which is what the design of the sock will look like if it was sliced down the backside and unwrapped. Once the "Flat view" design is complete, you will then have to transpose the design accurately on the "Front" "Back" and "Side" views in the template. This work will allow us to see how the final sock will look like from all angles. Please note that we prefer designs that wrap-around seamlessly. However if you create a design that looks great but can't truly wrap around seamlessly, we can still manage to work around that. We've attached an example of how the final project should look which will help you understand what we mean by "wrap-around". (Sock-Mockup Example.png).

You'll also need to limit your design to only 6 exact colors. And you can use only 5 colors on any horizontal cross-section of the design. You can't use gradients. However you can create the illusion of gradients and shadows if you are creative. But the 5-6 color limitation is essential. Imagine that you can only use 5-6 spools of yarn to knit a sock. You can only work with 5-6. So you have to be selective.

In our template, every pixel of the "Flat View" area represents one thread of the sock. If you see aliasing in your design, that's how it will look on the final sock also. Keep this in mind as you design.

We have a short deadline on this project so please be prepared to work quickly! If you are able to complete the project on-time, we have 50-100 more of these projects coming up throughout the year.

We're looking forward to working with you!
