Indian Heritage Apparel Designer

Job ID: 40157809

Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR

I run a young womenswear start-up and I’m ready to expand our line of kurtis, shirts and tees with designs that celebrate India’s traditional patterns yet feel unmistakably modern. What I need first is pure ideation: mood boards, original print or weave concepts, and silhouettes that step beyond the generic.

Traditional motifs—whether drawn from regional block prints or classic textile layouts—should be the heartbeat of every piece, but I also want them re-imagined through fresh cuts, clever detailing and a clean, contemporary attitude. If you understand fabric behaviour and can suggest the right base cloth, embellishment method or a balance of hand- and machine-work, that’s a big plus.

Deliverables I’m looking for:
• 3–5 fully-developed design concepts per garment type (kurtis, shirts, tees)
• Digital sketches and print/embroidery placements (AI or PSD files)
• Brief tech sheets noting fabrics, trims and surface-technique specifics
• A short rationale explaining how each look merges heritage with a forward outlook

Our website is already live, so you’ll be designing for an audience we’ve begun to cultivate. Budding designers are welcome—as long as you’re ready to think audaciously and communicate clearly. Let’s add a new chapter to India’s style story together.
