Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented QA Tester to join our team on a contract basis and ensure the highest quality standards for an inventory control solution tailor built for the US Home Medical Equipment/Durable Medical Equipment market. As a QA Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality, performance, and reliability of our software across various platforms including iOS, Android, and web browsers. Your primary responsibility will be to perform thorough testing, identify and report bugs, and collaborate with the development team to deliver a seamless user experience. We are estimating 20 to 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive testing of our inventory control solution across iOS, Android, and web browsers to ensure its stability, functionality, and compatibility.
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts to cover various scenarios and edge cases.
- Identify, document, and report software defects, bugs, and usability issues using bug tracking tools and project management systems.
- Collaborate closely with the development team to provide clear and concise bug reports, including steps to reproduce and necessary documentation.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define quality standards, resolve issues, and ensure a high level of user satisfaction.
- Perform regression testing to ensure that resolved issues do not reoccur and the overall system remains stable.
- (Optional?) Participate in design and requirement reviews to provide valuable input from a testing perspective.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to software quality assurance and testing methodologies.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of test data, test environments, and test documentation.
Requirements:
- Ability to work within an emulated hardware environment using PostMan to simulate hardware/RFID reads
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a QA Tester or similar role, preferably in testing mobile applications and web-based solutions. Verifiable references required.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, quality assurance processes, and bug tracking systems.
- Proficient in testing iOS and Android applications, including knowledge of device-specific functionalities and limitations.
- Access to current mobile devices/hardware and a PC capable of running a variety of browsers (Chrome, Brave, Edge, Mozilla and Safari) upon which to test the solution.
- Familiarity with testing web-based applications across various browsers and operating systems.
- Experience in creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and product managers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and continuous integration practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with MS Azure DevOps to develop test plans, execute plans, bug logging and tracking.
- Automation testing with Selenium and PostMan required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English is required.
- Ability to Work during US CST business Hours
