Exploratory testing of e-commerce site
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Project Description:
I am looking for a skilled tester to develop an effective test automation strategy to ensure a bug-free e-commerce site.
1. Create reusable automated test scenarios on a mutually agreeable PaaS e.g. Lambdatest.
2. Conduct exploratory testing on our e-commerce site using the test suite created in line #1.
3. Document results of of test cases, observed issues and recommendations for improvement (if within your domain of expertise).
User Story: As a consumer, I want my shopping experience to be frustration-free so that I am inspired by the content.
Desired Outcome: All Bugs, Defects, Errors, Faults or Failures present in production are identified, documented and can be reproduced.
Specific requirements for this project include:
- Baseline non-functional performance metrics.
- Test for visual anomalies like overlapping modules, hidden buttons, elements that render off-screen, CSS issues etc.
- Test for JavaScript errors, resources not loading, resources blocked, browser errors, etc.
- Target form submission, search, top navigation menu, side navigation menu, layered navigation filters, call to actions (add to cart, continue shopping, edit your cart, proceed to cart) and variations of the checkout process.
- Conducting tests on various platforms to verify the site's functionality and performance such as cross-browser compatibility, device compatibility and responsiveness for optimal user experience.
SEO is out of scope.
Ideal skills and experience for this project:
- Proficiency in exploratory testing methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of e-commerce checkout processes and best practices.
- Experience in identifying and troubleshooting slow loading times.
- Familiarity with testing on both desktop and mobile devices.
- Expertise in testing on different browsers to ensure cross-browser compatibility.
