1 Description - Scenario
The banking platform provides functionality for customers to change their monthly contributions to their pensions via both the website and mobile app. Amounts can be specified as either an exact amount (e.g. £100) or a percentage of salary (e.g. 3%).
Both routes interact with the same backend service API which allows customers to query their current monthly contributions and submit changes to those contributions. The service that handles those contributions updates the customer preferences and ensures an exact amount is stored in the datastore for the service.
In this hypothetical there is no form of automated testing on any of these components and all testing is conducted manually by a members of the product or engineering team.
You have been tasked with developing the automated QA solution for this specific feature.
