Desktop Audio-Video QA Testing
Budget: $10 – $25 USD
I need a seasoned manual QA engineer to put a pair of desktop apps through their paces. Both programs capture sound, screen and video, so your focus will be on the full-cycle experience of recording through built-in or external devices on Windows and macOS.
What I’d like from you
• A concise test plan that spells out how you will verify audio and video capture across common hardware setups on Windows 10/11 and the latest macOS releases.
• Well-structured test cases covering start/stop recording, file integrity, resolution and bitrate options, device switching, and error handling.
• Clear, reproducible defect reports filed in the tracker of my choice (Jira or similar) with logs, screenshots, or short clips where relevant.
• A final summary highlighting pass/fail rates, critical blockers, and recommendations for improvements.
Success criteria
1. Every audio and video recording scenario defined in the plan is executed.
2. All defects include exact steps, environment details, and expected vs. actual results.
3. The final report lets my dev team triage issues without back-and-forth.
If you’re comfortable juggling both Windows and macOS environments and have a track record of testing recording software, I’m ready to get started right away.
