Configure FW Palo Alto & Load Balancers in Oracle OCI
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am standing up a new environment in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and want all traffic to flow through a Palo Alto firewall before it reaches any workloads. The goal is to handle both inbound and outbound traffic securely while exposing services through two OCI load balancers—one public-facing and one strictly private.
Here is what I need completed end-to-end:
• Deploy and bootstrap the Palo Alto VM-Series (latest supported PAN-OS) in my tenancy, wiring it so it can inspect and control all ingress and egress traffic.
• Create and configure a Public Load Balancer in front of the firewall for internet-facing apps and a separate Private Load Balancer for internal services.
• Enable SSL termination on both load balancers, set up session persistence, and implement health checks that gracefully drain or fail over nodes when necessary.
• Supply clear documentation (or Terraform scripts if you prefer IaC) so I can reproduce the setup, including security list and route table changes in the VCN.
• A brief hand-off session to walk me through the configuration, show traffic flow, and verify rule effectiveness.
Acceptance criteria
– Both load balancers show healthy back-end status and successfully pass SSL traffic.
– Palo Alto policies visibly log and enforce rules on inbound and outbound flows.
– Health checks failover correctly when I disable a test instance.
Everything sits in Oracle OCI; please be comfortable with its console and CLI, Palo Alto VM-Series, and standard layer-7 load-balancing concepts so the work proceeds smoothly.
