PIC: Cognitive radio algorithms and software for intermittent bandwidth limited RF networks
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
OVERALL OBJECTIVES:
1) Simulate intermittent bandwidth-limited RF broadband networks, data and
interferences/noise using NS-3/NetSim and GNU Radio/RedhawkSDR,
2) Explore different algorithms (machine learning and traditional) to establish/maintain/re-establish connectivity in cognitive radio (CR) networks (CRN):
a) mitigate effects of delays, loss of connectivity, denial of service and interferences,
b) spectrum sensing, frequency management/spectrum scheduling, self-organization
and adaptive routing, and
3) Develop a flexible framework (testbed) based on NS-3/NetSim and GNU
Radio/RedhawkSDR (and their CR extensions) for simulating CRNs in a scalable manner and for
evaluating CR algorithms using a common interface.
