Tekla Residential Steel Detailer
Budget: $15 – $25 AUD
I act as the link between local Australian fabricators and their end-clients and I’m looking for a reliable detailer who can slot straight into our workflow for repeat residential jobs. Every project is modelled and documented in Tekla Structures, so solid, up-to-date experience with that platform is a must.
Your core responsibilities will be to turn architectural / engineering information into fully coordinated fabrication drawings and to double-check that every dimension, bolt, and material grade aligns with the project specifications before it leaves our desk. Because we sit between supplier and customer, clarity and accuracy are critical; a small clash on screen quickly becomes a costly headache on site.
Typical deliverables on each job include:
• A clean, clash-free Tekla model ready for IFC export
• GA, assembly, and single-part drawings in PDF and DWG formats
• NC and DXF files where required
• Reports (bolt lists, part lists, material summaries) generated directly from the model
• A brief verification note confirming you have cross-checked against the latest structural set
Turnaround times and workload vary week to week, but if the quality is right there will be a steady stream of residential structures to keep you busy. Familiarity with Australian section libraries, connection preferences, and drawing standards will let you hit the ground running.
If this sounds like a fit, send through a short note about your Tekla background along with one or two sample residential projects that show your detailing and checking discipline. I’m keen to start our first package as soon as I find the right person.
