Freelance CAD Steel Detailer Needed – Structural & Architectural Steel
We are a metal architectural fabrication company specialising in structural and decorative steelwork, including bars, railings, balconies, and bespoke architectural elements.
We are currently finalising the design of a steel-framed building and are seeking an experienced CAD professional to develop a complete set of detailed structural and fabrication drawings.
This is not a basic drafting task — we require a full steel detailing and assembly package. The successful freelancer will produce comprehensive drawings showing all members, connections, plates, fixings, and bolts, along with clear and accurate material specifications.
**Scope of Work**
* Full set of fabrication and assembly drawings
* Detailed connection designs (plates, welds, bolts, etc.)
* General arrangement drawings (plans, elevations, sections)
* 3D steel model coordination
**Requirements**
* Proven experience in structural steel detailing and fabrication drawings
* Strong understanding of relevant local building regulations and steelwork standards
* Ability to produce accurate, fabrication-ready drawings
Experience with international standards is beneficial but not essential.
**Preferred Software**
* AutoCAD
* Tekla Structures (highly preferred)
* Or equivalent 3D steel detailing software
**Deliverables**
* Native CAD files + PDF drawing set (plans, sections, elevations, connection details)
* Coordinated 3D model (DWG, IFC, or similar format)
* Itemised bill of materials (including sizes, grades, quantities, and weights)
* Brief compliance note confirming adherence to applicable standards
We can provide architectural drawings, concept sketches, and loading information immediately.
