Technology Writing (News & Opinion)

Job ID: 33764982

Budget: £20 – £250 GBP

Seeking skilled technology experts to create 700-900 word articles to appear on websites with 1m+ unique views per month each. Articles will be about specific business-related technology products ranging from collaboration platforms and payroll apps to network infrastructure, data centre operations, machine learning and cybersecurity.

We are seeking people primarily with technical knowledge, who can perhaps write a little (or a lot!): we can teach editorial style and approach, but not teach technology knowledge and experience.

Generally, tone is determined by the readership (who are technology experts). You'll be given clear briefs (read this, this, and this, give your commentary), and be expected to research what you don't know.

Perhaps you have industry experience in DevOps or sysadmin, or are a Technical Writer tired of writing manuals and feature summaries. Maybe you're a data engineer who wants to move into technology journalism?

You will need knowledge that goes much deeper than that of an everyday technology user. You will understand cybersecurity threats, know what a container is, be able to recount the difference between a LAN and the cloud, and enjoy hacking things.

This is regular work for the right people, with scope for permanent roles in the future.
