Technical/Scientific Writer for Water Filter Review Website
Budget: $15 – $60 USD
We operate a website dedicated to testing water filters and other home water treatment equipment. Our work involves not only hands-on testing but also conducting lab analyses to assess product performance thoroughly. We’re looking for an experienced science communicator or technical writer who can translate complex scientific concepts into concise, reader-friendly content for US-based consumers.
Responsibilities
-Research and write in-depth articles that explain technical and scientific findings in a way the average consumer can understand.
-Cover NSF standards, common chemical contaminants, basic chemistry concepts, and other product-specific regulations.
-Collaborate with our team to interpret lab data and integrate results into article drafts.
-Ensure all content meets high standards of accuracy and readability.
Qualifications
-Ideally background in chemistry, environmental science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
-Proven ability to write informative and engaging content for a non-technical audience.
-Familiarity with US standards/certifications (e.g., NSF, EPA regulations) is highly desirable.
-Excellent research and fact-checking skills.
Project Scope
-Article Length: Varies greatly but typically 1,000–1,500 words.
-Immediate Need: We have a backlog of articles pending publication, so there’s plenty of work available for a writer who can jump in quickly.
-Ongoing Collaboration: Beyond catching up, this is an ongoing project with a regular flow of new products and research.
