Lesson 1: What Is Weather
Activity: Daily Weather Chart

Each day, students observe and record the weather using a chart.

They draw a picture (sun/cloud/snow) and circle the type of weather.


Materials:

Weather chart (I can provide a printable)

Markers/crayons

Window or outdoor view

Activity: Weather & Clothing Match

Match weather cards to clothing/activity cards (e.g., raincoat for rainy, swimsuit for sunny)

Activity: Tree Art for Each Season

Students create a tree for each season using paint, tissue paper, or crayons (green leaves, red/orange leaves, bare tree, blossoms).

Activity: “Move Like the Seasons!”

Call out a season and students act it out (e.g., pretend to shiver in winter, jump in leaves for fall, pick flowers in spring).
