Formal Business Report Instructions
Purpose Formal reports are used for a variety of purposes in the workplace. Reports are a long message type and typically include formal elements such as a title page and table of contents, as well as section headings and page numbers. For this assignment, you will be writing a formal business report that is persuasive in purpose, proposing an organizational change to an appropriate internal audience.
Audience The audience for your report will be an internal workplace audience. Typically reports will be addressed to management or executives or possibly HR as they are the decision makers in the organization. Your audience should not be the entire organization or anyone outside of the organization (external audience).
Topic This report will propose an organizational change to your audience. Remember that an organizational change impacts the entire company. You will choose a topic from the list provided in the Topics & Research PowerPoint. Keep in mind you will need to find academic sources to support your proposed change.
