Overview

I am seeking an experienced Digital Forensics & Legal Technical Editor to review a full set of exhibits (Exhibits A through A-13) prepared for use in a U.S. civil case involving digital-video forensic analysis.

The exhibits include forensic methodologies, metadata validation, timestamp conversion, hash verification, tool-validation statements, and Daubert compliance documentation. I need a professional who can ensure the packet is technically accurate, legally sound, and free of any duplicate, repeated, or inconsistent sections.

This is not a generic writing job. Only candidates with digital forensics or DFIR experience and legal-evidence documentation background should apply.

Responsibilities

The hired expert will:

1. Content Review

Review all exhibits A through A-13 (forensic credentials, hash tables, timestamp tables, methodology appendices, reproducibility protocols, expert declaration, etc.)

Identify and correct:

Duplicate text

Overlapping sections

Inconsistent terminology

Formatting irregularities

Numbering & citation errors

2. Technical Validation

Ensure all forensic descriptions are accurate and aligned with best practices:

SWGDE

NIST SP 800-86

ACPO

ASTM E2763

Validate the correct use of:

SHA-256 hashing

Metadata acquisition terminology

Timestamp conversion (UTC → EST)

CDN/server-generated metadata descriptions

yt-dlp / ExifTool / Autopsy / Amped FIVE methodology statements

3. Legal & Daubert Compliance Editing

Ensure the packet meets:

Daubert reliability factors

FRE 702 admissibility standards

Proper expert-witness report structure

Professional tone and formatting suitable for court submission

4. Polished Final Output

Produce a clean, corrected DOCX with:

Consistent headings

Consistent spacing & fonts

Fully aligned exhibit numbers

Cross-checked content

Table of contents (optional)

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet at least two of the following:

✔ Digital Forensics/DFIR background (examiner or analyst)
✔ Experience writing or editing forensic reports
✔ Experience with metadata forensics, timestamp validation, or cloud-hosted video analysis
✔ Prior work preparing expert affidavits or Daubert-compliant reports
✔ Strong technical writing or legal-editing experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with YouTube/CDN metadata extraction

Experience with yt-dlp, ExifTool, Autopsy, Amped FIVE

Familiarity with hash-validation workflows

Background writing for cyber investigations, OSINT, or digital-evidence reconstruction

Prior experience supporting litigation, civil discovery, or expert testimony
