CFD & Acoustic Analysis For Patent
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
I hold a recently granted U.S. patent for a next-generation noise-abatement system for internal-combustion engines and now need a thorough, simulation-driven validation of its performance.
Scope of work
1. Create a 3-D CFD model from my drawings (to be shared after a preliminary call and NDA).
2. Run steady- and transient-state CFD simulations to confirm there is no increase in backpressure compared with typical commercial mufflers.
3. Perform an acoustic simulation that clearly demonstrates:
• Frequency reduction
• Overall noise level improvement
• Noise distribution at the outlet
4. Cross-reference all results against benchmark data from standard mufflers.
5. Compile findings in a polished, marketing-ready PDF report that highlights:
• Frequency reduction figures
• Overall noise level drop
• Backpressure comparison with standard mufflers
• Detailed backpressure analysis with supporting charts and CFD contour visuals
What I will provide
• Patent text, schematics, and internal geometry once an NDA is in place
• Baseline specifications of reference mufflers for comparison
Deliverable
A professional technical report (PDF) containing high-resolution plots, spectra, contour maps, and concise commentary suitable for both engineering review and investor-facing marketing material.
Preferred profile
An experienced mechanical engineer with demonstrated proficiency in CFD and acoustic simulation (ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, COMSOL, or similar) and a track record of authoring clear technical reports. Availability for a short interview and quick NDA turnaround is essential.
