Business Technical Presentation: Comparing Two Companies (Android vd Iphone)

Job ID: 34911513

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

Choose two companies that sell the same kinds of products (Examples: Wendy’s and Chick-fil-A or Honda and Chevy). Your job is to research those companies as if you were helping your company make a decision on which of the two to invest in. You should use the two company websites, but you MUST have at least two other sources (news articles, business sites, etc.). After you collect all of your research, put together an outline that would allow you to give a 5-6 minute presentation detailing your findings. Make sure to include a works cited page to the end of your outline.
Your presentation should focus on 3 specific areas of the companies.

1. Background: simply the backgrounds of the two companies. How did they start? How fast did they grow? How did they come up with the idea? You may also include general facts like how many stores or locations they have.

2. Sales & Marketing: Discuss the sales numbers of each company (could be over the past year, 5 years, or whatever time frame you can find and feel fits). Talk about how they go about getting customers (commercials, promotions, social media).

3. Your choice: Your third area of focus is up to you. Choose something you find interesting about the particular industry or the products. One example might be “work culture” and you could talk about the way the companies hire people and what the work environment is like. Or “future opportunities,” where you focus on potential growth/expansion. Pick something that you believe potential investors would want to know about.

* You should use the same 3 areas for both companies. For example, if you were doing Chick-fil-A and Wendy’s your structure would be:

Introduction (get attention, establish credibility, relate to audience, preview)
Background on Chick-fil-A
Background on Wendy’s
Transition
Sales & Marketing on Chick-fil-A
Sales & Marketing on Wendy’s
Transition
You Choice on Chick-fil-A
Your Choice on Wendy’s (same focus as Chick-fil-A)
Transition
Conclusion (review points and strong ending)
The outline grade breakdown will be 5 points for the introduction, 10 for the body, 5 for the conclusion, and 5 for the works cited (MLA). -10 for outlines that are not keyword.
Use a keyword outline. Do not write a paper or read directly from a paper. Use the outline as a guide when presenting in the next unit.

More Assignment Guidelines
1) Choose your topic/companies wisely. You should pick products that others will be interested in. You also want to make sure there is enough information on your companies for you to create an outline that would allow you to speak for 5-6min because you will be presenting this speech in the next unit!.
2) Presentations have three parts: an introduction, a body and a conclusion. By having a clear introduction, body and conclusion it helps your speech flow better for the audience. When not organized properly a presentation will simply sound like a list of facts and statistics and will bore your audience.
3) Your presentation should be informative in nature….not persuasive. Your goal is to tell the audience all about both companies. You are leaving it up to them to decide which one they ultimately want to invest in. It is not your job to try to convince them one way or another….just lay out all of the facts.
