Windows Laptop Setup & Migration

I’ve just unboxed a new Windows-based laptop and want it running smoothly, complete with everything I rely on day-to-day. The task is straightforward: configure the machine, apply the latest Windows updates and drivers, install essential security and productivity tools, then move all of my existing data from the old computer so it feels as if I never switched devices.

I will provide remote access to both machines (or we can work on-site if you’re nearby); you decide the migration method—Windows Easy Transfer, OneDrive, external drive, or another proven workflow—as long as no files are lost and the folder structure remains intact. Please double-check user permissions, confirm that default apps open the right file types, and leave me with a short, plain-English hand-over note outlining what was done and how to restore in case of emergency.

Deliverable checklist:
• Fully updated Windows laptop, virus-free and optimized
• All personal files, email archives, browser bookmarks, and project folders transferred and verified
• Core apps installed and licensed (Office 365, Adobe Reader, Zoom, etc.)
• System restore point created, plus a brief summary document
