Resolve KB5064081 Toolbox Forms Conflict

Job ID: 39840644

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

After this week’s Windows 11 cumulative update KB5064081 landed, our in-house application “Toolbox Forms” refuses to start. The crash trace leads straight to Microsoft.Ink.dll. If I remove the update, the program launches normally, so the fault is clearly a conflict introduced by KB5064081.

I already tried the forum-recommended steps—copying an older Ink DLL, re-registering it, editing the manifest—but the issue persists. Rather than rolling back the entire update, I want to keep KB5064081 in place and still have Toolbox Forms run without errors.

I’m looking for a Windows technical support specialist who can reproduce the problem, pinpoint the root cause and supply a clean, repeatable fix. You can use whatever approach works best—compatibility shim, manifest tweak, side-by-side DLL, tiny patcher—provided it leaves the update installed and the application stable.

Deliverables should include:
• A clear step-by-step remedy (script, registry edit, installer, or documented procedure) that restores Toolbox Forms functionality with KB5064081 still applied.
• A brief explanation of what changed and why it works, for future reference.
• Verification that the solution survives a reboot and applies reliably on other Windows 11 machines with the same update.

Once Toolbox Forms opens normally on an updated system, the job is done.
