Recover Thunderbird Emails Profile
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I recently moved my Mozilla Thunderbird data to another drive on my Windows machine and, in the process, broke something. After copying the entire Profile folder and editing profiles.ini, Thunderbird now launches but only shows messages from the past day—years of older POP3 mail no longer appear, even when I point the program back to the original location.
What I still have:
• A full backup copy of the original Profile directory (mail, prefs.js, etc.).
• Thunderbird installed and working enough to open.
What I need:
• Diagnose why the existing profile no longer indexes or displays all messages.
• Re-link or repair the profile so every historic email, folder, filter and address book returns exactly as it was.
• Brief written steps so I understand what was fixed and can avoid repeating the mistake.
Remote assistance via AnyDesk, Zoom, or your preferred secure tool is fine—I’m flexible on timing. My priority is simply getting every email back where it belongs.
