Freeze Dryer Restart & Maintenance

Job ID: 39897225

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I have a laboratory-scale freeze dryer that has been sitting idle for about a year. I need an experienced technician to bring the unit safely back online and set up a practical maintenance program so downtime is minimized going forward.

Key focus areas
• Vacuum pump – inspect, change oil, verify seals, and confirm the pump pulls the correct vacuum without abnormal noise or leakage.
• Control system – check firmware, clear any stored faults, recalibrate sensors, and ensure the interface is fully responsive.
• Compressors – assess refrigerant charge, test start-up amperage, listen for wear, and confirm temperature profiles meet spec.

What I’m looking for
1. A structured restart procedure with safety checks and documented test results.
2. On-site or guided support to run the first complete drying cycle and validate performance.
3. A concise maintenance schedule (parts, intervals, recommended oils/fluids) that I can follow or outsource to you for ongoing service.
4. A short summary report outlining any parts that may need replacement soon and an estimate of remaining service life for critical components.

The unit is located in my workshop and is accessible during normal business hours. Remote guidance is possible if you’re confident you can walk me through the steps, but hands-on service is preferred. Please outline your relevant freeze-dry equipment experience, expected timeline to complete the restart, and any diagnostic tools you will bring or need me to provide.
