Fix MacBook Sonoma Input Issue
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I installed macOS Sonoma on my MacBookPro5,1 using OpenCore Legacy Patcher. The system boots to the login window, but the cursor stays frozen in the top-left corner and neither the built-in keyboard nor trackpad respond. External USB input devices behave the same, so I cannot enter my password.
Already attempted:
• Rebooted and reset PRAM/NVRAM (and SMC)
• Performed a clean reinstall of Sonoma through the patcher
• Tried external keyboard and mouse
I need focused technical troubleshooting that pinpoints why all input devices fail at the login screen and provides a reliable fix. A successful outcome lets me sign in and use both internal and external input normally. Clear, step-by-step instructions, patched kexts, OpenCore settings or other configuration changes are welcome as long as I can reproduce the solution for future installs.
